"Matz is nice and so we are nice." The community's core social rule.

MINASWAN stands for “Matz is nice and so we are nice.” It is the closest thing Ruby has to a golden rule: because the language’s creator, Yukihiro "Matz" Matsumoto, is famously kind and welcoming, the community aspires to be the same. You will see it invoked to keep discussions friendly and to welcome beginners. It is a big part of why people describe Ruby as the friendliest corner of programming. (ruby-lang community pages)
